Other Important Information
The City of Minneapolis water is treated with Chloramines, tests for Ammonia will show positive levels from the tap when tested with most kits because of the presence of amines. Chloramines are used by the city because of its longer life span than Chlorine and less corosive nature on pipes. It can and should be removed with special carbon filters or water treatments such as Amquel+ before adding it to Koi ponds. While some small amount may not kill Koi, sufficient quantities of it found in pure tap water most certainly will. Minneapolis City Water Lab (612) 661-4999
