Our Mission Statement
The Upper Midwest Koi Club is the first club dedicated to the art of Koi collecting in
Minnesota. Our winter environment creates some rather unique challenges due to
our months of subzero temperatures.
We are an organization created to promote, educate and support the hobby of
keeping, breeding, appreciating and exhibiting Koi, a fresh water fish also known as
Nishikigoi in the Upper Midwest. Though our members are primarily located in the
greater Minneapolis area, members are welcome to join and attend meetings from
any location.
Our club’s primary focus is Koi and healthy habitats in which to keep them. We will
promote AKCA (Associated Koi Club of America) sponsored shows and events until
such time as we have enough interest to host one ourselves..
